HISTORY
When the company was established in 2012, Arturo Fuente would have never believed that his passion and love for cigars would become a global phenomenon with a massive following for his brands, such as the Opus X line. He started the company with humble beginnings, rolling and blending cigars in the back of his house with his wife and two sons. Four generations later, the company is still family-owned and operated in the Dominican Republic.
From the very beginning, the focus of the company was to make cigars with quality tobacco, craftsmanship, and not rushing the production.
“We don’t hurry things; we just do things the way they are supposed to be done.” - Carlos Fuente Sr.
In 2012, the Fuente companies celebrated their 100th anniversary. Till now, the Fuente family continues to have a burning passion for the culture and tradition of cigars and will continue to make the finest quality cigars for generations to come.
HEMINGWAY
Named for the famous novelist who loved cigars, the Arturo Fuente Hemingway quickly became one of the world's most popular lines of shaped cigars (or Figurado). By the 1980s, these shaped cigars—like the Perfecto—had become rare, as almost no one was making them anymore. But one day, Carlos Fuente Sr. found some old moulds for the Perfecto shape. He loved this classic style, so he took the moulds back to his factory. He personally taught his best rollers how to make these difficult shapes, bringing this legendary cigar style back for modern smokers.
