Casa Carillo Pledge Purple

HISTORY

Born in Cuba, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo was inducted into the Cigar Aficionado Hall of Fame in 2012, joining the greats of the cigar-making industry. All the titans of the industry have very different backgrounds and have overcome a host of obstacles to reach the top of the premium cigar industry, but they all share the two traits that success is built upon: passion and drive.

With over 50 years devoted to the industry, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo and his family are the recipients of Cigar Aficionado’s 2018 No. 1 Cigar title with the Encore Majestic and again in 2020 with the Pledge Prequel. They are also the No. 1 Cigar 2023 rated by the influential Cigar Journal magazine with Allegiance Confidant, and in December 2024, the Encore Majestic was awarded UK Cigar of the Year at a special ceremony in London.

PLEDGE PURPLE

The foundation of Pledge Purple begins with an extraordinary achievement. Pledge Prequel was named Cigar Aficionado's 2020 Cigar of the Year, earning an exceptional 98 rating, Ernesto Perez Carrillo set aside someof the wrapper that he used to create the original Pledge and continued to age it in his factory, now nearly a decade old this wrapper leaf is the foundation of the Pledge Purple.

Created to mark the five year anniversary of Pledge Prequel, this release reflects patience, intention and the belief that great tobacco reveals it true character only with time. While sharing its origin with the celebrated Pledge Prequel, Pledge Purple is an entirely new blend. The result is a cigar defined by structure, smoothness and layered complexity that unfolds with every draw. The internal components were reimagined to complement the aged wrapper’s refined profile.

Produced as part of Casa Carrillo’s Premier Collection only 2,000 boxes are available for the international market.
