HISTORY

Born in Cuba, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo was inducted into the Cigar Aficionado Hall of Fame in 2012, joining the greats of the cigar-making industry. All the titans of the industry have very different backgrounds and have overcome a host of obstacles to reach the top of the premium cigar industry, but they all share the two traits that success is built upon: passion and drive.

With over 50 years devoted to the industry, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo and his family are the recipients of Cigar Aficionado’s 2018 No. 1 Cigar title with the Encore Majestic and again in 2020 with the Pledge Prequel. They are also the No. 1 Cigar 2023 rated by the influential Cigar Journal magazine with Allegiance Confidant, and in December 2024, the Encore Majestic was awarded UK Cigar of the Year at a special ceremony in London.
