HISTORY
Cigars without compromise. This is an expression of the deeply held ethos at Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust and states in just three simple words everything they wish to accomplish. Cigars are more than just a passion for DTT; they are their life.
They want to create puros that pay respectful tribute to the long, vaulted history of handmade Vitolas, honour the dedicated works of all the vegueros, torcedors and artists who dedicate their labours to this timeless craft. Their goal is to always offer the connoisseur an unparalleled smoking experience, bar none.
Their ligador and catador de puros, Steve Saka, demands the most exact standards to be always honoured. Regarded as a cigar expert throughout the industry, he is credited as being an experienced cigar maker, a prolific author regarding cigars and black tobaccos, a forefather within the online media segment and a dynamic tobacco industry executive.
In 2000, he worked directly for Lew Rothman, the former owner of JR Cigars, as an executive for four years, and he subsequently served as the President then CEO of Drew Estate from 2005 through 2013. In 2015, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by establishing the family-held Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust to craft cigars without any compromise.
Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust’s cigars have all been rated exceptionally high, including at the top of hundreds of annual lists, and they are the only maker to have been named the ‘Company of the Year’ for 4 consecutive years by the Halfwheel Consensus.
SIN COMPROMISO
Without compromise is the company’s mantra, and creating a cigar brand to manifest this expression into reality was an incredibly challenging task, as the cigar simply had to be beyond exceptional. Rolled at the Joya De Nicaragua factory in Esteli, this cigar uses Nicaraguan filler combined with an Ecuadorian Habano binder and finished with a Mexican San Andres Negro wrapper.
This is a truly unique, complex medium cigar that is smooth yet strong at the very same time. At its core is an inherent sweetness paired with a savoury spiciness, but hidden within its layers are earthy notes of cocoa, espresso and chicory roots. Each cigar is gently soft-pressed and sleeved in Spanish cedar.
Like the rest of the Sin Compromiso line Paladin de Saka is a regular production release; however, there are three main differences between this newer release and the core Sin Compromiso line. The Paladin de Saka have the addition of Pennsylvania ligero to the filler, which makes the blend more robust. The cigars feature a regular box press, and the cigar band uses a slightly different colour scheme.
