HISTORY
Don Francisco Fonseca founded his brand in the 1890s.
A handsome man, who cared deeply for appearances, he passed his sartorial precision on to his cigars which he dressed in silky tissue paper – a tradition that continues to this day on all the Havanas that bear his name.
Fonseca’s delicate blend of filler and binder tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo zone makes it the ideal cigar for the afternoon, or for people new to Havanas.
All UK sizes of Fonseca are tripa larga, ‘totalmente a mano’ – long filler, totally handmade.
A well-priced, small cigar dependent on its seco leaf in the blend to capture the flavour of Vuelta Abajo. And this it does to great effect.
TASTING NOTES
The Cadetes format offers a concentrated, light-bodied experience with immediate notes of toasted cedar and roasted almonds. A subtle, sharp citrus zest and a touch of white pepper define the quick, flavorful finish.
Pair the intense flavours of this short smoke with a strong, rich espresso or a spiced ginger beer.
