HISTORY
It all began with a very humble beginning when Jose Pepin Garcia and his family established a very small cigar factory in Little Havana in 2003. Jose Pepin Garcia could not have imagined at that moment that his love and passion for cigars would help him build one of the most recognised companies in the cigar industry. His companies have become synonymous with highly rated and well-distinguished brands.
The Cigar Aficionado No. 1 Cigar of the Year for 2012 was given to Flor de Las Antillas Toro and repeated in 2015 with Le Bijou 1922 Torpedo Box Pressed. In 2024, My Father Cigars was awarded Cigar Aficionado No. 1 Cigar of the Year for a third time when The Judge Grand Robusto Box Pressed received the award. This makes My Father only one of four cigar makers to receive this accolade on more than one occasion since the awards commenced in 2004.
The Garcia Family continues to follow the tradition they lived and learned in Cuba and proudly owns two factories, the headquarters in Doral, which is a boutique factory with a team of twelve expert cigar rollers trained by Don Pepin himself.
The other is the Garcia Family Industrial Park in Estelí, Nicaragua, with more than three hundred cigar rollers. Both factories are responsible for the twelve company-owned brands that exist in the marketplace today.
CONNECTICUT
My Father Connecticut is an extension of the existing My Father and My Father Le Bijou lines. The cigar is blended by Jose ‘Pepin’ Garcia and his son Jaime Garcia at the My Father Cigar factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. It features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Nicaraguan Corojo 99 binder and Nicaraguan Habano Criollo filler - with the exception of the Ecuadorian wrapper, all of the tobacco comes from the Garcia’s farms.
This cigar also features a very unique aromatic leaf that gives the cigar aromas and flavours; a special fermentation process was given to this particular type of tobacco in order for it to release all the aromas and flavours that the Garcias were looking for to finish the last touch of this blend.
This is a mild to medium cigar with notes of cedar, coffee, leather and caramel with a hint of honey.
