HISTORY
Since 1845, the Robaina family has farmed tobacco continuously on its precious vegas (fields) at Cuchillas de Barbacoa situated in the San Luis district of the Vuelta Abajo tobacco zone.
Vegas Robaina cigars were introduced in 1997 as a tribute to Cuban tobacco farmers through the figurehead of Don Alejandro Robaina, whose reputation in his day for producing the finest wrapper leaves was legendary. In effect, the brand honours all the anonymous tobacco growers whose
Knowledge and skill make Havanas what they are today.
All of the medium to full flavoured Vegas Robaina vitolas are ‘tripa larga, totalmente a mano’ – long filler, totally handmade.
A sturdy shape, a shade longer yet slightly thinner than a Robusto, that draws well. It is considered by many to be the brand’s outstanding vitola.
TASTING NOTES
This medium-to-full-bodied Hermosos No. 4 has a balanced yet intense profile of roasted nuts, spicy cedar, dark cocoa, and a deep note of leather.
The cigar pairs extremely well with an after-dinner drink like an aged Dark Cuban Rum or a smooth, high-proof American Bourbon.
