HISTORY
Like other great Havana brands such as Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta, Sancho Panza takes its name from a masterpiece of world literature.
In Don Quixote, the famous 17th-century Spanish novel by Miguel de Cervantes, it was Sancho Panza who served the errant knight as his faithful squire. His name was first used for a Havana in 1848, and since then it has enjoyed a reputation for quality amongst discerning smokers.
Rolled with a medium-bodied blend of filler and binder tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo zone, all sizes are ‘tripa larga, totalmente a mano’ – long filler, totally handmade.
There is no more whimsical name given to a Petit Corona. Probably an abbreviation for Non Plus Ultra, meaning ‘there’s none better’. Who are we to argue?
TASTING NOTES
A medium-bodied Petit Corona that delivers flavours of sweet wood, earthiness, and a slight savoury saline note.
The earthy and slightly rustic profile pairs well with a medium-bodied Black Coffee or a classic Dry Amontillado Sherry.
